Recent Development
Two further STRATCO alkylation specialised units from Elessent Clean Technologies Inc. were successfully inaugurated by Sinopec in June 2021. A fifth and sixth STRATCO alkylation unit are being added to the company's refining network, increasing its alkylation capacity.
The Beaumont refinery expansion project, which ExxonMobil said had begun operating successfully in March 2023, would add 250,000 barrels per day to the capacity of one of the largest petrochemical and refining complexes on the American Gulf Coast.
